Indoor Safety and Air Quality

All materials used in High Mid Panels are appropriate for indoor environments, including studios, homes, offices, schools, and houses of worship.

  • Fabrics are designed for interior architectural use
  • Materials meet the fire safety standards required for commercial installations
  • Mineral wool cores are fully encapsulated during construction to help contain fibers and maintain a clean, stable panel assembly

High Mid Panels are designed for straightforward installation and include 2" Z-Clips for standard wall mounting.

Panels can be installed on walls, ceilings, or straddling corners. Wall installations use the included 2" Z-Clips. For ceiling, corner, or suspended installations, we offer the following hardware options:

  • Corner Trap Installation Kit
  • Ceiling Panel Hardware Kit
  • Cloud Hardware Kit
  • Suspended Wall Panel Kit (for mounting panels in front of windows, built-ins, etc.)

Each hardware option includes step-by-step installation guides, available as downloadable PDFs.

Installing panels with an air gap can further enhance low-frequency absorption, depending on placement and room layout. For an easy and consistent way to add an air gap, see our Air Gap Spacer: https://www.musiccityacoustics.com/shop/p/air-gap-spacer

High-Mid Panels: Versatility Perfected

High-Mid Acoustic Panels are designed for real-world spaces where speech and music share the stage, including studios, churches, classrooms, restaurants, gyms, and live venues. At 2.5 inches deep, they absorb from 200 Hz through the upper frequencies, controlling the reflections that cause echo, muddiness, and listening fatigue. This range covers speech, vocals, and most instruments, delivering clear intelligibility and balanced sound without the depth or cost of full broadband treatment.

Built for the Spaces You Actually Use

Solve your acoustic problems in almost any environment with High Mid Panels.

Contemporary worship demands clarity for both spoken word and live music. High-Mid Panels control the reflections and reverb that cloud speech intelligibility while maintaining the energy and warmth congregations expect. Installed on ceilings and sidewalls, they balance clarity with musical impact, so every word is understood and every note connects.

Singer-songwriters, vocalists, and acoustic musicians need clean recordings without room reflections. High-Mid Panels eliminate the echo and flutter that muddy vocal takes and acoustic guitar tracks. They create a controlled space for tracking without requiring the depth or cost of full studio treatment. Perfect for demos, content creation, and personal projects where the focus is capturing clean sound, not critical mixing.

Podcast and video production spaces need speech clarity without the harshness that comes from untreated reflections. High-Mid Panels control the frequencies that matter most for voice while handling background music, sound effects, and ambient noise. The result is professional-sounding content that doesn't require excessive post-production cleanup.

Classrooms, band rooms, gyms, and auditoriums all face the same challenge: too much reverb makes it hard to hear and hard to focus. High-Mid Panels improve speech intelligibility for teachers and students while controlling the chaos of music rehearsals, gym activities, and large gatherings. Learning environments become more comfortable, less fatiguing, and easier to communicate in.

Event spaces and performance venues need flexibility. High-Mid Panels handle spoken presentations, live music, and everything in between. They reduce the harshness and echo that plague untreated venues while maintaining enough energy to keep the space feeling alive. Whether it's a wedding reception, corporate event, or live performance, the room sounds balanced and professional.

Gyms, yoga studios, and fitness spaces battle constant noise: music, instruction, equipment, and activity. High-Mid Panels bring that chaos under control. Instructors can be heard clearly without shouting. Music stays present without overwhelming. Members can focus on their workout instead of fighting the room. The space becomes more inviting and less exhausting.

The Difference
You'll Feel

High-Mid Panels change how spaces sound and how you feel in them.

Background music, live instruments, and vocals become more defined and less muddy.

Whether it's a sermon, lecture, or conversation, words cut through without strain.

Harsh reflections and excessive reverb disappear, reducing fatigue and making rooms more inviting.

In classrooms, gyms, and studios, distractions fade and people can concentrate on what matters.

Vocals and acoustic instruments capture cleanly without room reflections bleeding into the track.

Performance You Can Trust

We test every product at Riverbank Acoustical Laboratories, one of the most respected acoustic testing facilities in North America, following ASTM C423 standards. This ensures the performance data you see is independently verified and accurate, so when we list absorption at a specific frequency, you can trust the results.

  • X Axis = Frequency in Hz | Y Axis = NRC Rating from 0-1

NRC stands for “noise reduction coefficient.” An NRC rating is a percentage grade that represents a specific panel’s ability to reduce noise.

Ratings are typically expressed in decimals from 0 to 1, where 0 represents 0% (meaning the product reflects sound) and 1 represents 100% (meaning the product absorbs sound)

So, for example, if a panel has an NRC rating of .85, that means that roughly 85% of the sound that hits that panel’s surface will stop there

Ratings can go above 1 because they’re calculated by scoring all of the surfaces of the product, leading to ratings like 1.05.

Installation Made Simple

Our step-by-step guides walk you through every aspect of the process, from choosing the right hardware to placing panels for maximum impact. Whether you're mounting to walls, ceilings, or corners, we've designed the installation to be straightforward and confidence-building.

Depth Matters More Than You Think

Thin acoustic products under 2 inches work for speech-only spaces, but they struggle when music or activity noise is present. Products like acoustic foam absorb high frequencies while leaving the midrange untreated, which leads to rooms that sound hollow, muddy, and imbalanced.

High-Mid Panels use a 2.5 inch profile with 4 lb/ft³ Rockwool to absorb effectively down to 200 Hz. This covers the midrange where most instruments, vocals, and room reflections live. By controlling that range, High-Mid Panels create clearer, more comfortable spaces without the depth, weight, or cost of thicker options: the smart middle ground for real-world applications.

Your Questions: Answered

  • If you're only tracking vocals and acoustic instruments, High-Mid Panels are a cost-effective choice. If you're mixing, monitoring through speakers, or working with bass-heavy instruments, Broadband Panels give you the low-mid control you need for accurate playback.

  • Absolutely. Many of our designs combine both. For example, Broadband Panels on the back wall for low-mid absorption and High-Mid Panels on the ceiling and sidewalls for coverage and balance. This approach maximizes performance while managing budget and space constraints.

    The differences at a glance:

    • Acoustic panels improve sound within a room by absorbing sound, thereby reducing echo and enhancing clarity.
    • Soundproofing blocks sound between rooms with the use of dense building materials, decoupling walls, and closing air gaps to prevent noise from entering or escaping.

Use acoustic panels to make a room sound better inside, and soundproofing to keep sound in or out.

  • Yes. High-Mid Panels handle both speech and music effectively. They control the reflections and reverb that make restaurants uncomfortable while maintaining enough energy to keep the space feeling lively.

  • An absorption coefficient measures how much sound energy a material absorbs at a specific frequency. A coefficient of 1.0 means the material essentially absorbs 100% of sound at that frequency that comes into contact with the acoustic treatment, while 0.0 means it reflects everything.

We report frequencies where our panels provide meaningful absorption (absorption coefficient greater than 0.5). This ensures you know exactly where our products will make a real difference in your space. When we say a panel is effective down to 200 Hz, it means the panel absorbs at least 50% of sound energy at that frequency and above.

  • It depends on the size of your room, ceiling height, and how much treatment the space requires. Most spaces need coverage on multiple walls and the ceiling. We offer free room layout designs to show you exactly what your space needs.
